Encapsulated Smoke Pellets 8g. For mandatory testing of flues, chimneys, pipework, boilers and drains. These smoke pellets give off a dense low-toxic smoke when ignited.
Duration of smoke: 60 seconds producing 24m³
Each tub contains 50 encapsulated smoke pellets and these can be held by our Smoke Pellet Holder product.
A smoke evacuation test must be done after the sweep of each appliance!
Ideally before you start the smoke evacuation test, get the customer to switch on all extractor and ceiling fans.
Smoke testing needs to be done with all doors shut initially, this will replicate the fact the room could be without any other form of ventilation.
Then the smoke testing needs to be done with the doors open where the appliance is, all extraction units and ceiling fans on full and all doors in-between open. This replicates the worst that could be done whilst the room is open.
You must also then go outside and check the smoke is evacuating from the correct terminus and check for any other breaches.
This makes sure that the appliance will evacuate the smoke (and therefore CO) from the appliance when it is live!
If for whatever reason the smoke evacuation test fails and there is smoke spillage you have to look at the possible reasons why this is happening!
